Awful Surgery
March 20, 2025
Phoned for an appointment for my daughter (child) who keeps feeling faint, extreme increase in heart beats, nauseous & cannot attend college as feels too unwell. I was told we would get an appointment within 48 hours, then texted to say within 21 days, if not contacted by then to contact them!!! I ended up paying for a private GP appointment who said my child needs a face to face appointment urgently! Complete joke of a practice, who decides how long a patient should wait for an appointment at that place?
I cannot afford to go private, but I have no choice! No wonder A&E’s are full !

Patient left in extreme pain
March 13, 2025
Went to the surgery for routine review but at time had a bladder infection and was in lot of pain, got upset during consultation with nurse as felt soooo ill. Nurse did do a urine test but as it didn't show anything told me I couldn't have antibiotics...I a long term condition which when I get these episodes only antibiotics will clear it...the GP always gives me them and it clears up...I did tell the nurse this but didn't do any good. After a few more days of agony I phoned the surgery and this time spoke to a paramedic who did another sample. This time it showed something...had to still wait another 4 days of agony for the results to come back from hospital which showed an infection and I needed antibiotics which I had mentioned to the surgery in the first place. Previously a Doctor had always given me these straight away and prevented me having to suffer for 2 weeks...this is a dangerous slippery slope not letting patients have access to a Doctor when they need it...nurses or paramedics are not trained to deal with long term complex medical conditions. This is the second time now I've been fobbed off with a paramedic ( have to say the paramedic this time was good apart from leaving me another 4 days in extreme pain) ...last time the paramedic at the hospital dismissed me and falsified the medical records to cover his track)....I was a practice manager of a GP surgery for 20 years and to leave patients in extreme pain with no treatment is disgusting.
Practice manager keeps appointments closed.

I called a few weeks ago to book a none urgent appointment, a medication review that wasn't pressing. Advised that there were no appointments with my doctor within the next few weeks and to call in a week's time. I didn't think much of it.
I called again today and advised the same, which I then questioned, explaining it wasn't urgent, so just book me in the future whenever was convenient. This is what I found interesting... the receptionist (who was very nice) explained that they don't have access to future appointments as the practice manager doesn't make them available till closer to the time. This in my eyes is extremely dishonest, I'm aware that the government have given targets that GP patents should be seen within 2 weeks of calling, so it seems the practice manager has taken it upon herself to make that happen in a way that affects patients, in order to reflect better (but wrongly) on the practice. Ultimately she's ticking boxes, while actually ending up giving parents much longer wait times. Not having appointments booked in 3-4 plus weeks time looks good with their stats, but means we lose out. This shouldn't be allowed. On top of that it's likely giving the reception staff a lot of unnecessary stress in having to turn people away and then dealing with upset/angry patients.
It shouldn't be allowed, but people should be aware and questioning why they have to keep calling back week after week when they actually could open the appointments for the future.

Failed to take blood test previously arranged

Even though the person taking the tests was free. Then they failed to respond to a formal complaint. They give the impression that patients are a nuisance not customers
receptionist is rude and unhelpful

Ex cancer patient x 3 , I rang for an appointment , explaining within a few days would be acceptable, told no could not arrange any appointments as Diary was full until 19TH JULY , she demanded to know what was wrong so I explained the seriousness of the appointment , she still said no appointments and I had to have a telephone call , completely unacceptable behaviour, I have now purchased an urgent Blood Test from Numan
Impossible to see Gp

Told no appointments available. Go to A&e if you need a doctor, or call back in a weeks time!
GP's will not see women for menopause
September 29, 2023
The GP's at this practice will not see see menopausal women. Only one nurse is allocated appointments. She is booked up months in advance. GP's at this surgery never see patients face to face. We are sent to a clinic in Eastbourne. The surgery is empty. Patients only see nurses on the premises.

Im a rare visitor

I'm a very rare visitor to my GP (annual cancer check plus perhaps one other visit) but in recent years, it takes at least 10 days to get an appointment. Especially for me this provides an excuse not to bother. The surgery has taken on too much
